Hiccoughing is the medical term for hiccups. It can be caused by a number of different conditions - but the main cause is eating too quickly.
Irretractable Hiccoughing can be very distressing .....and not just for the person with the symptoms! Chlorpromazine which was one of the very early anti psychotic medications can be used to treat Hiccoughing.
