black is white

Just got a new (to me) motorhome. To take some of my map collection made a box to fit behind the driver's seat. It would look good with a coat of black paint. Rake about in the shed and a tin I bought ages ago from Wickes turns up. Back to the house get all laid out with cleanish paintbrush and screwdriver to open the tin and old newspaper strewn about ( I am not a tidy painter).Lever off lid of tin clearly labelled as black to find white! Oh well I suppose a white box could be alright.

Maybe there is some hair added to the manufacture of the paint and it's turned white with old age!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
