I love the stuff, my local butcher does the best in the world, but working in London i have to make do with the supermarket stuff which is ok.

Anyone else love the stuff.??

Having it for tea, some prize winning stuff I got from the Cheshire Smokehouse. This evening it is matched with wild boar sausages, fried egg, croquettes and tomatoes. Black pudding and warm runny yolk are a perfect combination.

Love it. Best varieties aren't too salty. Quite like white pudding too.

Despite being Lancashire born and bred I have to admit that I'm only a recent convert to the black pudding.

However, living so close to Bury in Lancashire means I have no shortage of the BEST puddings in the UK.

Well perhaps not, but the only time I've had it was at a hotel in Dublin and it was bland and very salty, not nice at all. Clearly in that case chef didn't source it on quality.

Otherwise known as "mealy puddings", or "mealy jims". Fond memories of battered mealies and chips, or mealies served with mince and tatties.
