Looking to purchase a tablet for our eldest son. Quite intrigued by the play book especially when you can get a 64gb version for under £130! However impending release of the kindle fire is also of interest. Anyone have the play book? Looks good quality just worried about long term support? I believe it's getting android app support but could also be rumour!

If the play book got android support it would be good, if not them it's just tomorrow's doorstop.

No and no. PlayBook is half-complete and has a very limited number of apps, the Kindle Fire ties you to Amazon for downloads and again limits the choice of apps.

Google Nexus 7 = yes, if you don't, you will always wish you had.

The Nexus 7 32GB version will be out very soon for £199 (the 16GB version will be discontinued), so soon in fact that one was unwittingly sent to a Japanese customer who had ordered the 16GB version. Google are also expected to announce the 10inch version on 29th October at Google Playground.
