Blackfriars Bridge flash mob, part 2

It was a good event. I attended as i was en route to a train at Marylebone to take me off to Kidderminster. So I could get to ride over the bridge & back (I think we should have done it twice), and then trundled to the South Bank before peeling off.

I saw a few CCers there, and lots of folk from other fora.

I'd put the number at about 1000. I was at the front of the ride when it returned southbound, and the northbound side of the bridge was filled with cyclists.

Saw a lot of people I knew, including Alex B in his Fridays shirt!

I couldn't put a number on it, but I was walking back south on the pavement looking for someone after the front had got to the northern edge. The bridge was packed with cyclists, and there were more waiting to get onto the bridge.

Anyone know what the lone motorbike cop was doing? Did he have a FIT camera fitted?

He stopped in the middle of the bridge for a while, no idea why. Then later he went to control the southern junction, stopping cars from coming and getting the remaining cyclists off the bridge faster - there was initially some confusion whether we were supposed to jump the red light or not.

Oh, but red light jumping is *always* illegal. Oh dear...
