Yeah, all this rings a bell
I bugged my mum for some brogues...she relented and got me some.....from Woolworths (when it was a proper shop). Jeez..didnt i get the piss taken out of me when my mates realised
Everyone thinks peer pressure and having the right brand is a new phenomenon...nah, it was happening (albeit to a lesser degree) in the 70s.

Bloody 'ell, Had pretty much the same... and put Blakeys in them. Scarred for life by the experience.

skinheads, skaboys and mods were very fashion driven and to use blakeys would have been laughable. These boys would have had proper quarter tips inserted by a professional cobbler. Unless they used doctor martens of course.
