Early mornings, very dark.
Pi55ing down with rain, with a full on head wind.
Piles and piles of leaves and acorns, out to the middle of the road.
Cars speeding up to junctions, with steamed up windows. Will they see me! Will they stop!

Miserable!
Just summing up my mood.........!
Have a good day!

Clocks change at the weekend so the mornings will be lighter for you soon! ...shame about the evenings!d'oh.
Hopefully weather will soon be crisp still winter days instead of this howling damp autumn!

Weather was really nasty when I woke up at 6am this morning to the sound of heavy pounding rain on the conservatory roof. Great I thought. By the time I had left for the commute at 7.30am it had stopped. A lot of standing water and leaf mulch about. But was warm. And now the sun is shining. :sun:

Similary to Ian set off in rain having passed off a last ditch attempt by my wife for me to take the car- however around a mile into the journey the rain stopped and the clouds lifted completely and was a wet road but glorious clear sunrise for the rest of the ride- very euphoric!
(Sorry to rain on the OP's parade!)

The conkers are mental, I dunno if it's been a good year or something (more berries and rose hips may predict a harsh winter) on one stretch they've been crushed into a sort of chunky white paste that makes the roads as greasy as a Gregg's door handle.

I remember last year - I was tailing a bus when it drove under a banking with a load of oak trees above..... the bus tyres started firing broken acorn shells at me at a hell of a rate, I was very glad of the glasses.

Product of a good summer for the trees and bushes after a very poor crop last year - according to an article I read at the week-end.

I dont mind the weather, dont mind the rain, or the wind (as long as its not over 35mph). Dont mind the dark. And I can generally deal with the acorns and leaves.

But this week alone I did find myself shouting "What the hell is wrong with you PILLOCKS this morning!!?" when an old man pulled out of a side road as I slowed to let a family use a zebra crossing. Said old man didnt "see" me (despite my Strada light set in 90 lumen mode) because he hadnt cleared his windows of mist. I only knew if was a man because I was far enough in front of his bonnet to see his strangulated expression when he saw me shouting.

He didnt think of applying the brakes though, lucky I did as I swerved. And then he had the bloody nerve to drive at 9 miles per hour. So I got a good look to see his mirrors were covered in mist too.

TBH he'll be lucky to live driving like that, what with the number of lorries down here...

..so I feel your pain, Trev
