Blind drivers out again

Personally I cant see anything wrong with your manouvre. You seemed to me to be in the correct position to turn right. I think either the mini driver didnt see you, or just couldnt be bothered to wait. Nothing new unfortunately.

Who knows what she was thinking, could have been any one of a million things!

Some people, however, have absolutely zero spatial awareness (usually the kind who can't read maps either). That means they can't judge speed/distance accurately. I have a female friend who would pull a manoeuvre like that in a car, not because she is malicious, but simply because she just hasn't got a clue how far away something is or how fast it's going. Very scary!

I have a lazy left eye meaning I have relatively poor depth perception. Doesn't really hinder me cycling - unless someone was driving a minature car on a minature road with minature buildings around, I'd still be able to work out distance quite easily.

The only thing I can think that could be a legitimate reason for her maneuver is that the column between the windscreen and side window was blocking her view of the cyclist.

More likely, she was an idiot.

Classic case of the silly bint pulling out on you because you are only on a bike. There is no way they would have done that if you were in a car or truck.

I used to think that, esp of pedestrians stepping out. Then I got a job that involved driving a Kermit green ex-mobile library, and found that actually, some of them still do it.

Now, I sometimes drive this:

and it still happens - although as her top speed is about 8mph, emergency stopping isn't difficult. But with the weight of her, and batteries and a full load of paper and glass, anything we couldn't avoid would get quite dented.

Hang on, seems to have lost the pic. Just a minute... Better? Yup.
