What's steam punk? ^_^
Generally set in a kind of Victorian setting, but moved on as if they had managed get the equivalent of computers etc without electricity - i.e. powered by steam.

For example, one of the first ones I read (whose title I have forgotten), had cinemas of sorts where the screen was a bit like those older train arrival boards where lots of little things flap over until the right one is showing - so the images on the screen were produced mechanically. 'Computers' are based on cogs etc like Babbage's Difference Engine.

Just googled - they're called split-flap displays:

(Shown working at about 20 s).
But this is OT, just an illustration of the kind of technology assumed to be possible in steam punk.

Have you come across '2D goggles' - absolutely love the Lovelace & Babbage cartoons, and Brunel!

Edit: oh, dear. I've started reading the comics over again. My productivity for the day is doomed...
This made me laugh again:
