Spot on! I seem to have developed a very expensive Screwfix habit with precious little progress to show for it.

Yesterday.
Walked the dog in the dark and rain for about 40mins
Cycled 7 miles at 8am.
Walked in the rain till 4pm accross muddy fields and through woods, bush beating pheasants partridge and duck.
Got paid a miserly £30!
Went to pub and spent a fair bit of it.
Cycled home in the rain arriving around about 8pm.
Opened the porch door grabbed the dog lead, light and game bag with just about everything I could possibly need for walking the dog and foraging (in the dark?).
Opened the house door called the dog who got over excited and peed all over the porch floor and my dirty boots.
Walked the dog for an hour in the rain. Got home tried to get a decent amount of mud of the dog before leaving her in the porch while I had a shower with the plug in. Invited the dog to get in the bath to wash her off in the used shower water.
She suddenly lost the use of her legs so I had to lift her in.
Left her in the bathroom while I made sure all the throws and towels were in place on the sofa.
Told the dog to get in her bed. Went in the kitchen sorted her scoff out made my own scoff. Put a couple of bottles of cider in the fridge.
Went in the sitting room with scoff and cider. Bollocked the dog for being on the sofa.
Turned on telly.
Same tomorrow

Same again except;
1/ rain replaced with strong cold wind.
2/ failed to fully jump stream and filled 1 boot with water.
3/ managed to get the dog out of house before she peed over the floor.
4/ forgot torch. So not sure where I took the dog for a walk.

in the last few weeks i have replaced the chain on the basin after being broken for 2+ years , replaced the loo flush handle and tonight fitted some safety catches on the kitchen cupboards ...... thats enough for 2016

Tomorrow I shall be gathering winter fuel at the father in laws with my chainsaw, axe, bow saw and a length of rope to fell 2 conifers which will make way for a large shed. The resulting logs will be put in my log store.

Yesterday I cut a walking stick from the hedge, smoothed it out with a knife, drilled a hole in it and put a loop through, for my old mum.

I did not start a manic dance routine when I found some earwigs.

1. Putting the tools away tidily negates the noisy hammering stuff.....and you were doing so well!

Drank coffee.
Cycled to nowhere in the garage for an hour.
Spent half an hour looking for the electric screwdriver so I can replace the broken catch on the bathroom cabinet.
Gave up.
Am now drinking coffee and on cyclechat!

I think you'll find that "walking stick" is the subject of the sentence, and that "from the hedge" is a separate clause; "it" is still the walking stick. Nice try though! And I'll suggest the tying down thing to Mum if she gets uppity in future.

You could try, "My god, a stick that walks....???!!!!"

Built the wooden frame which will hold the concrete base for my pending shed build. The shed is for my Honda VFR 800 man-toy.
Now heading out for a pint and a manly game of snooker.

Tomorrow I will probably be cleaning the house and doing a washing.
