If you don't live in london you may be able to donate at your local hospital and they can ship it down, but due to having a bone marrow transplant she will need Fresh B+ (tru blood won't do it) i know we have a fair number of people in the london area on these here forums so i'm asking if anyone can possibly help?

I can't give blood due to the medication I'm on, but echo the sentiments: if everyone eligible person reading this thread donates blood, regardless of blood group, then lives WILL be saved.

or check in with your doc, chances are they've tested your type before and should have it on file

will look on my donor card later. am due to give some soon so will make a point of making sure its in the right place if i have same blood group. rings a bell so might be me or missus that has that group

I'm the wrong group, 0 Rh+ I'm afraid but I echo all the well wishing sentiments 100%.

According the National Blood Service only 8% of the population are B+, see BLOOD, so if everyone can check, and ask your partners, parents, friends etc, etc it can only help.

[EDIT] I might not be able to help this time, but I used to donate regularly until I got into tattoos, and now I feel pretty selfish TBH. As a result of this, and as it's over 6 months since i've been inked, I've booked to attend a donor session tomorrow after work.

Just announced that they're on BBC news! they're running a story tonight

I'm another common one A + but my mum is one of the rarer ones B- ... so there is a chance some of my siblings are B+....

some twitter and facebook posts were wondering if it was a hoax. I wasn't sure. If i wasn';t sure then you can bet theres others who thought that too. especially fter the generic text response. you can be guaranteed that if my kid was in this condition and i had a text saying yes i am B+ how can i help ,. they would get a non generic text back regardless of how many texts they were getting.

I decided that i needed to find out so called GOSH. spoke to a lovely woman who confirmed its for real.
