I noticed at work this afternoon that my rear tyre had bulged/deformed. The last thing I needed was a blow-out so I've been and bought a new tyre and tube and swapped them over tonight. The tube was fine (so I'll save it for a spare,) I just think the tyre had failed.

I have only done 855 miles on the stock tyres, so I'm a little disappointed really, not a lot I could do about it I guess - I haven't done anything stupid to damage the tyre, so goodness knows why it has failed

Just put it down to experience I suppose

I had this happen on a newish (and quite expensive) tyre. I should have complained to the manufacturer, but just glued a piece of old tyre-liner on the inside (although there are patches for thing kind of thing.)
Anyway, it's now served me over 5km and is still going strong.

I had a Hutchinson Equinox blow out after about a 1000 miles .Luckilly noticed the bu;lge forming when stopped at a junction , pedalled slowly home and it blew about 100 yards from my front door.

Using Michelin Krylion Carbons now, about 800 miles and all good so far.

Good idea. I had a blowout Sunday due to a tyre hole caused by off road debris no doubt.

Inspecting both tyres it turns out my rear tyre has a hole too. That was quite new so its worth a go considering it has little wear.

I use zefal tyre liners so some of the cutoffs may make a base for an interesting patch.
