BMW X5 parking fail

I find a towing hook is a great parking sensor. Since coming back to live here my parking has gone to pot as there's always spaces. So when I venture over to England, usually in a hire car, my wife always gives out when I drive up to the top /near top of the multistoreys to park away from traffic. And as for when I've got a hangover - forget it.
Best bit of parking I ever saw was in Nice where a young lad and his mates sped along the road, he turned the nose in, pulled the handbrake and parked the car immaculately facing the way he'd just come. I'd hate to have seen the effects of all the practice attempts. Mind you in France - certainly in Paris, you're not supposed to put your handbrake on when parked.. this is to allow the other cars to bump you out of the way getting in and out.

Wrong!

That used to be true but in recent years it's all been about avoiding company car tax. Get a vehicle on the company that carries a family of passengers but qualifies for low commercial vehicle rates of tax.

The important word i used was 'were' ( working vehicles developed for working people). You're right others have used the tax break (which is no longer available IIRC)...even so...personally i have no truck (scuse the pun) if someone likes that kind of vehicle.

They're long enough to sleep in, too, just ... I lived in my old one for two weeks in France back in 1998.

For true sleeping-in-the-back comfort, you want one of these:
