Next week I will be in the market for one of the above, I have done some research and been to see the bikes but not at the same shop. I would appreciate any opinions and input from you very knowledgeable people.
Many thanks
Martin..

My gut call says the Genny, but you Can't tell which is best for you without riding them.

CDF . Do you have an Evans close by for a proper test ride?

That said I'd go for the Boardman as I Prefer SRAM to Shimano myself

I see they're gearing the CdF even lower these days, 12 11-32 compared with 12 11-30 last year and 12-25 when I bought mine .

What do you plan to use the bike for?

ETA: 11, not 12

I plan to use it in various ways on tow paths as well as road
on long tours and camping expeditions also might try a sportive

CDF is steel so may be more comfortable on long tours. It can take front and rear racks so would be good if carrying loads of stuff, especially now they've geared it nice and low. If you get a few sets of different tyres for it then it really shows its versatility. I use mine most of the time as a commuter, give it snow tyres in winter and occasionally take it light off roading down the park or the easy bits of the TPT. It's great for the odd sportive but it is not a fast road bike.

Boardman is aluminium with carbon fork so may be a bit of a harsher ride but lighter and racier. Looks more like a proper cx to me and I can imagine it being better off road, but I don't have any experience of this bike, or of cx racing.
