Boardman Hybrid Pro Carbon Fork issue?

Have had my Boardman Hybrid Pro for almost a year (and 4000 miles) now! Have noticed that on the right hand side of the carbon front fork, at the point where the cables curve from the handlebars to the frame, a furrow has appeared, where I'm assuming the cable is rubbing against the fork itself.

Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this with one of these bikes?

Yes it's normal. I have cable rub on my Boardman CX Team as well. However, it's not a good thing and you need to try to prevent it.

The easiest solution is to buy some patches - I use Lizard Skin Patches - which are basically just a sticker that you place where the cables are rubbing. This protects the forks as the sticker gets rubbed instead. It will need replacing every now and then.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
You can also buy rubber covers that fit over the cables at contact points , i use these with frame stickers.
I also use a chainstay protector to prevent chain slap and it hides a big scratch i got when the bike fell over .

I was thinking of using those glueless patches, seeing as I already have some lying about.
Have done the same as jamin so far, a bit of electrical tape in a similar colour to the frame.

I use Sugru, it's a mould-able rubber that dries in air, just a little mounted on electricans tape and it'll last ages, and as it has some give when dry it doesn't rattle.
