Boiler repair engineer recommendations in Basingstoke/Hampshire area.

Just got back from a few days holiday and found the boiler's packed up ...

Can anybody recommend a trustworthy engineer in the Basingstoke or Hampshire area before I throw myself at the mercy of the internet to find one?

Go with one who specialises in your make of boiler if no rec forthcoming. Obviously make sure they're gas safe registered etc

IMHO only employ British Gas for any gas work you may have.

Why? Personally, I blacklisted them years ago for their appalling service mucking me around several times when I looked to take out one of their plans

I'm lucky in having a recommendation for an excellent reliable and reasonable plumber and heating engineer

Me? I'm not the OP. My boiler is fine. Maybe @wonderloaf has his/her answer though if you can provide reasons for only using BG

I found a gas engineer who lives in the Chichester area who does a lot of work in London. His rates were extremely reasonable compared to the local London thieves. He did a great job on gas plumbing for us about four years ago, and he's thrived since, by the look of his website.

Re BG, won't be going to them as have had shoddy service in the past. Luckily a friend came up with a recommendation so I'll be looking into them.

@slowmotion I'll also take a look at Sweetapple Plumbing, Chichester is a fair way off from me but I know these guys can tend to get around a bit.
Luckily the breakdown's happened when the weather's so warm so no need to panic yet, just means cold showers for a while
