Going there for a day visit.
Dont know the place.
Want the shops really (well Mrs Dave does).
Expect to be there 4 hours(ish) and trying not to pay extortionate rates.

Do you mean Bolton?

If you're going on a Saturday the Octogon car park is free, but there's not many spaces left by midday.

I don't know how you'll fill four hours though.

If its a weekday I usually dump my car on Castle Street, a minute off the A666, a 5 minute walk into town and past Jason Kenny's gold postbox.

Dunno if it'd have space at the weekend with being residential and the side streets behind it permit only.

The Aquarium?

Have you been there?

The Aquarium?
That would only pass about 4 mins TBH but the museum upstairs from it is very good.

@Dave7 FWIW a lot of Bowtoners, (that's Boltoners in Lancy dialect), actually go to Bury for better shopping, free parking and awesome black puddings :mrpig:

Bolton town centre is awash with pound shops and the like, hell we've even got a pound bakery and a pound chippy FFS :surrender:

The Bow Street car park is convenient coming off the St. Peter's Way.
I seem to remember that parking is free on Sundays ( I don't go shopping on Sundays anymore as that's usually for cycling now)
Anyway, there's a little car park that I use, quite reasonable, down a little side road called Brown Street, down the hill from Prestons of Bolton.
