I found a book at the weekend, registered with BookCrossing.

For the uninitiated, BookCrossing is "the practice of leaving a book in a public place to be picked up and read by others, who then do likewise".
Until I found the book, I'd not heard of BookCrossing. Interesting idea. I'm reading the book now and will then release it.

Anyone found and/or released a book 'into the wild'?

Just up the road from us there is a redundant phonebox which is being used as a free village library. Books are left in there for people to take and read and then replace. We've dumped a load of old books helped stock it with unwanted books.

Only place I leave a book is on my book shelf, need a new one in a few months, no idea where it's going.

I have read about this and as a result a couple of times I've left a book on a train.

I admit it did feel a bit like littering and I worry the book will just be binned with the free papers somewhere down the line.

Are you supposed to label them or something before you leave them?

There's a unique ID number on the book, so you can register and track the book's whereabouts.
It all relies on goodwill, of course. I might release this book overseas and see if someone picks it up!
