One of the most engrossing things at the NRM is the signalling display. There's a feed from the actual signal box display at York, showing trains arriving, plus a feed from the station departures and arrivals board, a CCTV shot of a junction just up the line, and a big window overlooking the line to the north of the station. You can see each train arrive, identify its destination from the board, and see it light up the section for the right platform on the signalling display. It gets quite addictive.
