It would work if bicycles were required to be registered with license plates like automobiles. That wouldn't be that hard to do. Look at some of the large group rides and the number of people that don't have any problem with displaying an identification number, wearing a mandatory helmet, and even paying for the privilege to do so.

Of course paying for the registrations would add more money to government revenue in order to improve cycle paths as well as create new bureaucratic jobs to aid the fight against unemployment. ;)

What action are the police taking against cyclists who flaunt the law? It appears none, and yet the police are quick enough to pull up motorists (quite rightly I would state) who are caught speeding, failing to adhere to traffic lights and other road signs or not wearing a seatbelt.

What actions are being taken against motorists who flaunt the law? It appears nonet.I remarked on a motorist using a mobile phone (yesterday) while driving and all I got was a dirty look.(which is quite mild reaction,I've had worse)I couldn't give a flying one if they don't wear a seatbelt or stop in the cycle box at lights.

It's also quite good pointing a speed camera on the Mile End Road while wearing Hi-Viz,(not)

Why has no-one got this on their headcam?

Guessing this guy's been on someone's youtube..

The funny part is, go ahead fit a dashcam.. no-one is stopping you.
Exactly....no-one is stopping them, but my guess is they won't because they'll have a damn sight more footage of bad/dangerous driving than they ever will of cyclists - unless they stop at one junction all day and just film cyclists?

They would then edit out all the cars/vans/buses/lorries being driven badly, but that would be like:

There is a psychological difference

Most cyclists with head cams use a particularly bad bit of driving to report the individual, or highlight the poor driving

Most motorists (including motorcyclists) seem to want to highlight their own stupidity and illegality.

I am no more he than he is I.

Indeed, neither of us is the other and vice versa.

Nonetheless, I like the cut of this chap's jib and I think he is onto something.

I didn't read the article, but anyone who is compared to or confused with me must be a fairly solid type.

Mustn't he?
