Yeh, but I'd rather spend £6 on the finished item and ride my bike rather than potter around in a shed with a drill and a saw for a couple of hours

Couple of minutes is closer to the mark for drilling a few holes in a bit of metal to be fair.

There are a few mounts you can retro fit wherever you wish on the frame that will do the same job of bespoke bottle cagery for the same few quid. Useful for folders and putting a bottle on the stem for example.
