I have an issue with the cable guide on my Bottom Bracket. I have just insured my bike and want to provide the Frame Number (obviously) but it is covered by the cable guide. Is it as simple as taking the bolt out and shifting across to see it or is it going to be a bit more complicated then that? ie. removing the cables?

Its a ROSE SL-Pro if that makes a difference.

Here's what you do. I assume you have two cables going through the guide, if not, just ignore the redundant step.

Lift your back wheel, have someone turn the cranks and shift the (rear) gears all the way to the largest sprocket. Now Shift the chain onto the largest front chainring. Stop pedalling and stop the wheels. Put the bike now. Now shift both levers to the opposite end, as far as they will go without forcing it.
The Two gear cables will now be slack.

Remove the screw in the guide, move the guide over and remember to write the number down. You will not remember it.

Reverse the procedure, shift back and go for a ride and drink a beer.
