Thanks, that looks interesting!E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof is good, but not easy to find, even over here.

Gin and Tonic; Gin and Schmonic...I'm more of a Gin and tonic man.
Er, what's that alcohol rating again?E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof is good, but not easy to find, even over here.

Bullit is smooth and goes down a treat and often available at most supermarkets for around £25.
Knob Creek is another dependable whiskey and never disappoints....
I've always liked it, but recently I have liked it maybe a bit too much. What's your favourite, and what do you think of the maple / honey and other variations?
Me? I like Jim Beam, Wild Turkey. Jack Daniels is nice, but a bit overrated - I do love the JD Honey though.
Would love some but at almost 2 Grand a bottle i need a lottery win firstPappy van Winkle Family Reserve 23 (with whiskey from Stitzel-Weller) please!
Thanks for all of those recommendations, you're a treasure trove of bourboninityMakers Mark is good. So is Four Roses single barrel, in fact it's one of my favourites. Noahs Mill is exceptional, it's made in small batches so might be hard to find.
Old Grand Dad 100 proof is smoother than Roger Moore after a shave and also a regular on my drinks cabinet. Eagle Rare 10yr old is wonderful and under £40. Their 17 yr is amazing but at over £150 a bottle not an everyday sipper.
Talking of expensive bourbons the yearly release of George T Stagg bourbon is sublime but you won't get much change from £180 a bottle. I bought one 2 yrs ago and still have half a bottle left, only have a glass every now and then.
Back to real world whiskey
Bullit is smooth and goes down a treat and often available at most supermarkets for around £25.
Elijah Craig is smooth and also quite sweet, a bottle of that never lasts long in my house. Fighting Cocks packs a punch, Woodford Reserve is another smooth bourbon.
Knob Creek is another dependable whiskey and never disappoints as does Johnny Drum private stock.
Kentucky Vintage is one of the best bourbons between £30 and £35 and another of my faves (I seem to have a lot of favourites)
If you like Jim Beam an JD find a bottle of Jim Beam Black Label or their Signature bottling and the Jack Daniels Single Barrel is worth the £40 price tag. Search out the JD Distillers edition as well, usually around £25 at sainsburys (Jack Daniels isn't really a bourbon as it's made in Tennassee and not Kentucky
Of course, you're right there and that must be the reason that I don't like it so much as some of the others, well, apart from that honey stuff which is just nectar!Jack Daniels isn't really a bourbon as it's made in Tennassee and not Kentucky
Yes, Tescos nearly always have either that or Jim Beam on offer. I have a bottle of Turkey that I got on Friday at Tesco myself, not much of it left now thoughForgot to say Tescos are selling Wild Turkey for £15 (£8 off) at the moment. I bought a bottle yesterday and I've had a few tonight
Seen that many times but never tried it - I will give it a go! Thanks for the recommendation.Surprised no one has mentioned Red Stag - Jim Beam infused with black cherry.
Even nicer than it sounds.![]()
