I'm taking customers out in Bournemouth this evening. I'm sure they'll have some suggestions, but as I'm not a local, I don't really have any idea of good bars (or areas for bars) or conversely, places to avoid. Dinner is booked so it'll be from about 9pm or so.

I'd much appreciate any tips or suggestions from Bournemouthians on the forum.

Thanks.

Used to live there, and providing its not changed much, avoid the triangle/westcliff area and Boscombe. There are loads of bars etc in/around the town centre that are all pretty nice and all within a short hop of each other so if you don't like one, a 30 second walk will put you in a different bar.

Have a good night.

Well two companies do now Wisie, the rest of us still think you're an arse.

Yes I'll have the frame back and I though people were interested in Reynolds 531. Why don't you build it into a nice flat bar single speed so you can you use it, even with your knackered old back?

Carry on with stuff about Bournemouth please folks...

I gather that Bournemouth is doing a decent job of shaking off its blue rinse image. Haven't been there for years though.

Wait till you get your zimmer frame

Boscombe is still kind of a doggy area but it will become a completely different place in a few years time.... lots of things are happening there.

The triangle is just the triangle.... not the best place in Bournemouth town centre but far better than many other towns I know.

Westcliff is full of hotels but absolutely nothing wrong with the area.

There are many good bars in the town centre, the place is full of foreign students.
In the summer months I've met in the train from Waterloo people from as far as Belgium coming to spend the weekend in Bournemouth as it has a reputation of a good night out.....
