I was sent the testing pack 2 years ago and never got round to it. A mixture of laziness and male immortality.
Anyway, they sent me another recently and I know personally three people who have had bowel cancer in the last year so I decided to do the sensible thing.
Blimey, what a palaver. I'm on day 2 of 3, of the faintly gruesome procedure.
It had better be all clear after all this effort...

It's quite simple to do, but if you're squeamish about such things I can see why it might put some folk off.
I've recently done my second lot of tests and had a thumbs up both times.

It's been on the go in Scotland for a long time, every second year from age 50, so I've done it 3 times now. Not much of a palaver if it can help to save your life!
Edit.... Don't eat black pudding for a few days before you do your samples or you'll be taken in for the much more of a palaver camera up the jacksy! It happened to a guy who told someone in a pub once, allegedly.

Does it involve collecting one's waste for analysis? :surrender: Urgh. A family member recently had a section of bowel removed and has since been given the all-clear and is back to full health.

Some of us chaps aren't very good at looking after ourselves though (avoid the doctors at all costs), so it's good to get a 'ping' now and then to check ourselves over.

Good luck, hope it comes back negative.

My son works in a hospital lab where they check such things. A few weeks ago he told me about a guy that brought 3 days worth of cr@p into the lab in a carrier bag so that they would have a big enough sample to work with!
