I think his career was at an end after the 'legalized doping' allegations.

I always felt he was a little over rated, like his performances were more to do with the quality of the team around him rather thsn his skill. Not got any real reason for holding that belief though.

I can't say i found him a nice fellow,unlike that nice Chris Froome. He came across as a bit surly and up himself

You don't win five gold medals, the Tour de France and hold the one hour record without the required level of talent and skill. And no one wins the Tour de France on their own, people that win it rely very heavily on the team around them.
