Ive just fitted some new cables on my gravel bike which has Juin Tech R1 calipers. Id previously had sections of jagwire outer on it but the rear especially was pap. Took a punt at some Ashima reaction elite cable and decided on a continuous length rather than sections. Immediately better response, even though the jagwire was meant to be compressionless too.

As you may have seen im looking at getting a disc road frameset, ive already ordered some TRP Spyre calipers and was wondering whether the matching TRP cableset would be as good as the Ashima ones, or indeed are there any others to consider?
Thanks, Owen.

NB not interested in hydraulic for the moment to keep costs down

I got XT hydraulics cheaper than TRP Spyre. Don’t assume hydraulic costs more.

Anyway I've ordered the trp ones, will see how they compare to the Ashima, there's only about £4 difference so both likely to be good
