Brake lever spacers

Hi

Just bought my foirst road bike,a Specialized Allez 27 Sport and the brake levers are a little difficult to reach

I wondered what the 4 plastic things were in a bag and now worked out they must be spacers for reducing the reach on the brakes (nearly threw them away )

It may be a stupid question but I dont want to break my new bike (sorry new to all this)

Do I just press the lever and push them in or do I need to dissasemble them

I take it I will need to adjust the brakes as well?

squeeze the evers & press them in. You will probably have to adjust the brakes too

Put a small drop of washing up liquid on them, makes them go in easier.
Agree the brakes might need adjusting.
