Brake upgrade

My Raleigh has traditional cantilever brakes with an inverted 'V' shaped cable linking two arms.

I've recently bought another MTB for spares which has the more modern brakes with a cable going through a right-angled tube.

Would there be any advantage in putting these on my Raleigh?

I find V-Brakes (the newer sort) easier to set up.
You do need to use the right levers with them, so get those off the donor bike too.
