Brakes are feeling spongy

Isn't there a torque like adjuster on the shimanos?

I can confirm that the spongyness has gone away with new brake pads! My friend is still offering me Shimano 105 brakes for £25 though, should I or shouldn't I...

Good to hear you got it fixed. 105 calipers are £35 per caliper from Wiggle, RRP of £45 each - So £25 for a pair is a pretty good deal! If your current brakes are working fine I think I'd buy them as spares.
