My breadmaker has died.

Made a loaf this morning, which appears to be finished (although I haven't cut it yet). But when I went to get it out the breadmaker was off. Not showing finished, but nothing on the display at all and no buttons lit. Trying the switch in the wall on and off had no effect.

It's possible the fuse in the plug has gone, but it's one of those sealed-on plugs so I'll need to see if I've a spare plug in my toolbox to test that option. But assuming that is not the cause, my question is whether there is any point in trying to get the thing repaired, or do I just order a new one.

I suspect I know what the answer will be, but I thought I'd ask just in case anyone knows of a Panasonic repairer!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Things these days are not made to be fixed. Its a deliberate thing i think. RiP breadmaker and hello to new breadmaker?

Sorry for de-railing the thread, but to the OP, even a moulded on plug will normally have a replacable fuse. It would be annoying to find that out just after chopping the plug off.

Be worth taking it apart in case it's loose wire ir other simple thing eg where the cable goes in is a classic place for cables to fail, at least for movable things like hoovers or drills.

Other wise I'm afraid it might be toast :-)

It's probably toast, but if it's earned its crust, then it's paid for itself.
You will kneed the dough to replace it though.

I doubt its worth the bread it will cost to get a sparky to look at at it, but use your loaf and replace the fuse in any case, you never know it could still be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
