Nothing. I usually have a full meal the night before and prefer to burn that off in the morning. I have a bottle of water for my 1 hour 13 mile commute, followed by a yoghurt after my shower. Works for me, might not for you.

I didn't used to have anything but I started to get really hungry half way to work. Now I have some porridge with sugar and a cup of tea.

Nothing before I leave - but I have some brown toast, cup of tea and a piece of fruit at my desk - I try not to have a banana every day

Small glass of fruit juice and a fish-oil capsule before I leave. Bowl of muesli and a coffee once I get to the office.

Porridge and cup of strong coffee 45 minutes before setting off (arrive at work around 8ish). Usually have my first snack at about 0930. On the rare occassions I don't cycle then the porridge fuels me to lunch, otherwise I tend to eat little and often all through the day.

If it's for less than two hours, I just have my normal breakfast (eaten about 45 mins before I leave) of muesli, bran flakes and milk, and take a banana in my back pocket, plus two water bottles.

If it's for longer, then a bowl of porridge, then my muesli, bran flakes and milk. Then I'd take a couple of bananas and some energy bars, but would call into a caf or petrol station for a cuppa and piece of cake or choccy bar.

Cycling on a full stomach isn't to be recommended.

You might have told me that in September before we ate all of those cakes / chocolate / pasta/ sandwiches and bananas and then faced some short, steep climbs !!!

I have a glass of fresh orange and my daily vitamins / minerals at around 5.40 - 5.45, after getting up at 5.30. Then I'm out on the bike at 6.

10 miles later I get to work where I have a pint of water, a bowl of two Weetabix with milk, and then a cup of Lady Grey tea.

I really can't stomach eating anything before I ride right afterwards - I get terrible trapped wind that makes me feel pukey and sometimes I get bad stitches. I'm usually OK if I've been riding for a while and then eat - I can ride OK after that with no ill effects.
