Hello all

I am looking at finding a place where my Mum and Dad can go for a week or two and be completely looked after. They are in their mid-80s and Dad has moderate vascular dementia and mobility issues (he can walk a short way). I'm looking to give Mum a rest and yet find somewhere that Dad feels ok at. I've found a few possibilities online but I wondered if any of you kind CC people had any experience of this kind of thing. Kent, Oxfordshire or somewhere not far from Milton Keynes/Bedford would be best.

Thanks in advance!

I can't really help as I'm in Scotland but my dad has vascular dementia.
Our local council has a respite home which is lovely, and he goes there some weekends when me and my brother need a break (he has carers in and lives in his own home).
Could you try asking your council or The Carers Trust? CAB will have numbers

Thanks ScotiaLass, good tips. My sisters and I are trawling the internet but of course it's a Bank Hol so we can't action anything!

I'd love to send Dad off so Mum could get some time alone but one of the problems is that he can't be without her - he's completely emotionally dependent. So getting a place with care which will feel like a holiday for Mum would be great.
