I bought a set of these recently:-

To be honest I follow a lot of the advice already given on this thread. I have three sets of the Aldi Winter gloves, sized up for extra room, silk liner gloves, Merino thin gloves, various bike/active gloves and mitts and some thinsulate ones. This covers most situations but I do like to go out and play in the snow so felt the Pogies would round of the glove selection nicely....probably won't have any really cold weather this Winter now.

Oh and the Aldi gloves I only ever wear with a liner of some sort, they aren't the nicest feeling glove next to the skin...or maybe I just have delicate hands.

I use these for a little extra warmth: http://www.sportsdirect.com/running/karrimor-running-gloves-764054
There's an SD on every street corner so easy to get hold of/try out.

Are they pretty thin? Might go and buy a pair to wear now, underneath a pair of Aldi XL (oversized) mitts.

Yep, they're thin. I use them to supplement fingerless gloves in the morning, and slip 'em off for the evening run home. Also come in flouro to make your finger tips hi viz if you want to, ahem, send a message to any errant drivers ;-)
