Brilliant commutes

I having a great period of commutes at the moment. Virtually nothing bad is happening, drivers are all giving me room, no agression etc. Brilliant!

It certainly seems to be cyclic, and when I get a chance I'm going to have a look at the dates of my videos to see if any pattern emerges, but I'm enjoying it while it lasts.

Anyone else having good/bad patches?

It's all good

I'm not in the busiest part of the world by any means and am usually heading against the flow of traffic which helps a lot.

Maybe one incident a week of note and one a month of any real concern.

I did get "you'd get it" shouted by a female passenger at me the other week, I think that's a good thing

Good one for me today 37 miles or so total. 19 mile route home, nice lanes, passed Manchester Airport - had a 747 take off over me head....., and tested my climbing getting home, as it's from the 'hilly' way in on the 70" fixed gear..... got up the hill at 50 rpm..... and about the same speed as the road bikes, but about 30 rpm slower.

No issues recently............

Aye, I've had months of largely incident-free rides until last week, where my follow road users seemed to collectively get the hump.

If it carries on like this, I'll be wanting a refund for the camera off of you maggers!

I think I'm getting less incidents too but then again maybe what I would have called an incident in the past I'm getting used to and am more confident . I get the feeling too that when I'm on a road bike because of my riding position  I'm more tolerant of stupid manouvres .

Enjoying my new found extended trail ride into work. Only incident of note this week was yesterday, rounding a bend at speed only to be confronted by a horse. Managed to stop in time and got a friendly "thanks" from the nice lady rider!

Horse.....lucky...... no 4x4 then............

I think a good commute for me nowdays is just managing to get up some decent speed and not feeling I want to pack it in because im too tired to do it,like last night.

Traffic doesn't bother me too much.Generally im having a go at them for the slightest misdemeanor which isn't good.

I've just done seven straight commutes though.I think the one back on Tuesday was the worst as it was hot and I was bad tempered.

My commutes have improved greatly since i took 2 pieces of advice from here (apologies can't remember who it was).

First was to regularly check over right shoulder, particularly when traffic is approcaching from ahead, second was to ride where the left wheel of a car would be. Both obvious really but since i started cars seem to suddenly give me much more room.

I really like the 'put yourself where the car's left wheel would be'.
