Today I discovered that my ex-girlfriend had an accident on holiday in Italy and is in a coma. She didn't have any insurance so her family are raising money to bring her home.

We're not close or anything like that, but I know how hard this will be hitting her family emotionally (and potentially financially).

@Leedsbusdriver and @Leaway2 that's incredibly generous of you chaps, thank you. Her old man is being interviewed on STV tonight so hopefully that will provide another wee boost to the total.

Emotionally, this is quite a strange position I find myself in. We were together for several years and had more good times than bad. Unfortunately things went a bit wrong and there was a period when I really resented, almost hated her. Those feelings are long gone and though we don't have any contact I find myself hoping she makes a full recovery so she can enjoy life again with her new fella and wee boy.
