We came back from holiday to find 2 x PCNs from Bristol City Council for not paying a CAZ charge for a non-compliant vehicle. However, the vehicle in question, a 2009 Kia Picanto, Euro 4 petrol, is, and always has been compliant. The problem is, we recently scrapped the vehicle (after the dates of "infraction"), and you can no longer look up the details of the vehicle to confirm it is compliant.
I've appealed on the grounds that it's a compliant vehicle, but what is the likelihood I'm going to have to fight the council on this one?

Presumably this restriction applies also to the council, so I’d ask them for the evidence they are relying on that it was non-compliant.

Have you searched for your car details here? : https://www.gov.uk/get-vehicle-information-from-dvla

Presume you can't check for compliance, because the car has been scrapped and the reg number no longer recognised?

Is there anybody on here with same car?

They could check for you or let you know their reg number?

Or Google for one for sale with pics of the reg. Is this the same model? Does ULEZ compliant mean it's compliant in Bristol?

Just did that, from autotraders kn58yty
And it was compliant, if that is your model.

You must have a strong case to challenge the penalty notice.

Do you live within the zone or have proof that you have entered the zone in the past without incurring a penalty.

I live less than 8 miles from Bristol and have driven the car thousands of times through the city (including the road it clocked me on) in the 11 years we owned the vehicle. It has always been CAZ compliant.
