I've never heard of this person.
It is very sad when someone dies suddenly though, especially if they're young.

it "is" sad when anyone dies (especially the young)

But I don't know Brittany Murphy so cannot in all sincerity offer my condolences.

Plenty of young people die every day and never get a mention, (many whilst defending our rights to freedom) why then, does someone who happens to be "famous" get this amount of coverage.

If this turns out to be drug or food related, It will simply give my comments more resonance....if I am honest, I suspect it was but it is not fair for me to speculate

I thought for a while she was the girl who played the central character in Clueless, which I quite enjoyed watching (even though I'm not gay). That was Alicia Silverstone; Brittany Murphy played one of her mall-rat friends. Occasionally people die of natural causes in their early 30s. Poor young Richard Beckinsale comes to mind, and one of my dad's colleagues who was a careers advisor at our school. Very sad.

I too haven't a clue who she is. Her death has no bearing on my sense of well being and I have little capacity to mourn for all and sundry.

I'm bewildered by the outpourings of grief and condolences for dead people who have no direct or indirect connection with those who offer their sympathies.

Having looked up who she is/was I am still none the wiser.

In reality, her death has no direct bearing on my life, I was not mourning for all and sundry merely making an observation and reporting what I had read. It is however still saddening when someone young dies, which was kind of my point for posting.

It appears that there was nothing untoward going on, a seemingly perfectly healthy 32 year old has a heart attack. Which no doubt happens more than you would hear about (infact, a 28 year old friend of the family died last month from cardiac arrest) and just because someone is famous does not mean they should be mourned any more. But when someone does die that is famous it can make us aware of these sad losses because of the publicity.

Another example is NeoNatal death, 17 babies are still born or die shortly after birth every day in the UK but this fact gets no publicity until a semi celebrity suffers a loss and makes people aware then there are articles in the papers/magasines and TV shows about it.

I would agree with what Wigsie has said. I was surprised when I heard it. It's always a bit strange with some film and tv stars as they either have a few high profile films or quite a long filmography (certainly the case here) and you think what if. And I say that as someone who has known people die of leukaemia in their 20s, had strokes in their teens and worked somewhere where occasional reports of heart attacks in people younger than this happened.
