Broccoli....what is it good for...?

Broccoli. It's pretty nasty and bitter, isn't it?

Sweat a small onion in butter, add chopped broccoli including the sliced stalk. Bearly cover with stock and simmer until done. Chuck in a little crumbled Stilton to melt then blend the whole thing until smooth and adjust the seasoning.

The second best soup ever.

You can't say all that without telling us what tops the chart...

and your recipie although not stating quantities needs more stilton. Any soup with cheese needs more.

Yep, it's Stilton to taste. The top soup is a smooth leek and potato, finished with cheddar cheese. :okay:

You need another poll option: Broccoli is nice and also healthy eating
Agreed. It's a regular feature of my diet, because it's healthy and I like its taste. Any food can cause problems if overused, so the solution to that problem is simple.

Another vote for purple sprouting / summer sprouting.

If i have one moan about broccoli it's the dark fungus that you sometimes find growing in the stems. Seems to be an increasing problem in the last few years.
