After battling with Cross Country train's stupid new bike storage facilities for way too long I have finally taken the plunge and bought a Brompton.

Picked up my delightful Brommie in purple haze (which is the colour of a Ribena Berry in the flesh) and I'm already a convert. At first I thought I'd feel that the folder would be an unhappy compromise but it's brilliant.

Already I can see how this absurd looking little machine will liberate me from the constraints of the rail companies' silly rules. And I can't wait to walk into the office with it next week and put it under my desk:rolleyes:

PP way to go! Brommies are great . Although a rather expensive way for you to overcome Scotrails rules but by far the best way. I've not seen Brompton purple/berry sounds mysterious, dark. I'm sure you will have many happy years of Brommie ownership. Don't let it out of your sight not even locked up anywhere as they are extremely tempting to thieves more than other bikes if that is possible to believe.

I think it's called privatisation.

We all have to suffer it.

They're amazing bikes - I've always been shocked how fast I can go on mine.
The brakes on mine are crap though! It's one of the earlier ones and I think they're better now.

Awesome bikes. Do bear in mind that the saddle can (and probably should) be adjusted to be level and if you are tallish also moved backwards on the rails. It will affect the folded size a wee bit but hey.

If you take a little time to remove and grease the inner brake cables you will find braking performance on Brommies improves significantly ;).
