Is it actually possible to separate the Brompton rear triangle? I was trying to remove the bolts so I could grease them. It has been making a horrible noise. The left hand bolt came out, but no amount of unscrewing would remove the right hand bolt. Then I put the left hand bolt back in and continued unscrewing the right hand bolt. This still had no effect on the right hand bolt, but it caused the left hand bolt to come out. I'm beginning to wonder if this is a design feature and not something wrong with the right hand bolt or thread.

Good question. It is possible to separate the rear triangle as I've had mine replaced. How you do it is the real question.

It is designed that way so it can not be tampered with I know this as I have spent 2 days in the Brompton factory being trained how to strip and rebuild them. Why do you heed to grease them?

Something was making a horrible grating, creaking noise. It was either one of those two pivots or the bolt holding the rubber block. Oiling them seemed to cure it before, but it tends to come back, especially when it's wet.
