very wise Greg-Sensei. Very wise.

But not quite right, and Stu's contribution above, points to the difficulty. You see the sad truth is that many cyclists do not take sufficient care when choosing the outfits to accompany their bikes. There's a woeful lack of co-ordination on the FNRttC which, I am told, will be addressed in 2012. Lippy should tie in with frame colour, and so on.

Mind you, what one wears with a lime and puce Brompton, heaven knows. Perhaps a silk jaquard jumpsuit in lemon yellow and black with diamante shoulder pieces might do the trick.....

Black coordinates with pretty much every other colour. And I'd rather dress for the conditions than the bike.

When a bici I am the man in black. With occasional flirtations with Brewery logos and Friday Club and old Audax U green/white/purple.

When sans velo I tend to berry hues and the colours of nature. One used to paint one's nails to match the colour of the bass one was playing in one's band but the lovely Helen has forbidden it along with the shaven head and kohl. Tain't respectable past 50 apparently. Perhaps one last hurrah with matching lippy on a FNRttC?

Given #1 son's occupation and splendid abilities with a sewing machine, having made clothes as Xtmas pressies for all of us, that jump suit could easily be commissioned. Shoulder pads are very now. The reference to a lime and puce Brompton is lost on me though. Sage Green and Claret donchaknow?

It's a bit more complicated than that...

I did wonder whether evening dress ought to be de rigeur for the genteel ride - as long as one can order more appropriate weather for 2012.

Surely a black frame would allow one to wear any colour, just as a white frame would, or indeed a grey frame. Anything but Lycra, which in my opinion is a good thing.

agreed - and that's why she chose a black frame......but it's not just colour, but style, cut and accessories.....
