A Sturmey hub with an oil cap can still have grease in the ball races, but it usually gets washed out by oil eventually. If you use Park polyurea grease (which is oil-soluble) this happens almost immediately.

Anything without an oil cap is "sealed for life" in grease.

Back on the original theme of this thread - another tip that may be useful:

I spent an unhappy ¾ hour this morning trying to get a Schwalbe Marathon back onto a Brompton rear wheel. I just couldn't shift the final 15cm back on the rim (even tried Mr Sheen sprayed on the rim). By now I had blisters on both thumbs, and so put on a pair of thick cotton gardening gloves as a last resort. These just gave me the extra purchase I needed to finally get the f#ck3r over the rim.
