I bought a Charge spoon a few weeks ago. 20 quid. Comfortable straight out of the box, I don't need to massage it with angels' tears twice a week, and it won't melt in the rain.

I am really pleased for you.

I bought a Brookes once ... once, I tell you! Never again. It was as hard as a plank and fell to bits after one season of getting all muddy and wet on my MTB.

I replaced it with a modern (note the word "modern") one that doesn't need to be oiled/massaged/etc, plus it has gel in it (comforatble!), I can throw the bike down singletrack and get all wet and muddy and it doesn't care. And it has been good for 10 years!

The word 'Marmite' springs to mind.

I'm toying with getting one when my current saddle wears out because the 'look' the bees knees... but not having much natural padding, I suspect I'll be one who doesn't get on so well with one. Plus, I bought some bees knees once, they were rubbish.
