Brooks saddle bolt

What do you do when you have run out of bolt when tensioning a Brooks B17?

How long have you had it? I've had a B17 Narrow for over a year in all weathers and I've only needed to tighten the bolt by about a quarter turn.

Suggestions:

1. call Brooks and ask them - I've found them to be very helpful
2. back it off all the way - and start from scratch again
3. send it back to Brooks for re-leathering (~£55)
4. buy another and sell current one as "well worn in "

I don't think you can do much about. I think this is the case what Brooks calls "the end of the saddle's life"

It sounds like you have over done it - I have my B17 for over 5 years and has never needed to turn the bolt at all, having said that, I laced it.

Lacing it would be one option to explore.

I've had it about 10 years but putting it on the fixed seems to have speeded up the need to tighten. I think I might have been a bit liberal with the wax too.

Sell it on eBay for a song, and buy a real saddle like a Selle Italia SLR. Hee Hee.
