Hello all,
I'm planning on buying my sister a brooks saddle for christmas, and want to know if it would be a straight swap/fit or will I be needing something else aswell?

And for the brooks experts, whats the difference or rather, which is best out of the b66-S and b67-S saddles? Thanks

If it helps, this is the bike she has:

The B66 (I have one) has a different rail to the B17 and other more modern saddles. The clamp which is used requires the traditional type of seat post which is basically a piece of steel (or alloy) pipe which steps down from ~1" to 7/8" and the saddle clamps to the small end. To look at the photo, that bike should have such a seat post so should be no problem.

To the best of my knowledge, a B67 is basically a B66 with a single rail undercarriage so it can be used with modern seat posts (or the traditional type).

Nice bike by the way. Looks quite a modern machine for a loop frame. 1980s?

Thanks for the info tyred! Does that mean the B67 wouldn't fit the bike as it's made for modern bikes?

No idea what year it was made but it is very nice in the flesh.

B67 will fit anything. To put it on the old style seatpost, you will need a clamp like this - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/replacement-b...sure_cycling_bikeparts_SR?hash=item27ababce99 - and you will probably find the existing saddle uses one of those as well.

My B66 has twin rails, look at this, especially the pic of underneath the saddle - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brooks-B-66-C...emQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item45ee93e9be and you will see the twin rails and the clamp which will only fit the old style seat post. This saddle can't be put on a modern type seatpost with the clamp built in to it like this one - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLACK-RACING-...sure_cycling_bikeparts_SR?hash=item53de77ea30
