If the computer doesn't have wifi, how do you expect it to connect to the internet after using a cd?

What's the physical or radio connection you intend to use for it to access the net?

If it's brand new or even 2nd hand from the last 5 years,i find it hard to believe it doesn't have built in wifi
If it really really doesn't, then connect via the RJ45 (ethernet) connector.

Either you've been sold something that is wrongly packaged (win 7 with only XP etc disc) or you should have checked the spec out more thoroughly before buying. How much reading of the packaging did you do before purchasing. It sounds like buyer be'ware and you weren't.
We purchased the broadband a few years ago. Before Win7 was out.

The broadband works fine with wireless connection but it is the computer which is the problem.

I was referring to the computer, did I misunderstand the CD bit- did that come with the PC or the broadband??
The OS shouldn't make a difference anyhow to the boadband router, that is simply a wireless connection, ours has Macs, phones and PC's attached and no CD.

Does the computer packaging or info say the computer has wifi connecrtivity ot of the box?

Unfortunately the new PC doesnt have this list. So what my dad tried to do was use the installation CD that came with the broadband to try and install the driver for the USB dongle thing we use. Unfortunately the new PC has Windows 7 and the CD is only for Windows XP and Vista.
If you need a Win7 driver for this USB dongle (which I presume is a wifi connection dongle?), then download it using one of the other computers and bring it to the new machine on a data stick.

Some older USB dongles don't have windows7 drivers, you might get some newer drivers from the website of the company that makes the dongle. Ultimately, if you wanted wi-fi it's miles easier to buy a laptop with it built in.

It's a desktop.
