So, this morning my thermometer said 1°. Thermals, neck tube, w/proof jacket and a nice ride to work. This afternoon it was 19°!!. Fortunately (?), I had a ballistically busy day at work, and finished late (6.15pm) so it was down to a bearable (in thermals) 8° for the ride home.

It's tricky to judge at this time of year. I'll be taking 2 kits every day from now on.

-1.2C for me on the way in & 17C on the way home
It's all about your layers - 3/4 longs, compression top, mid-weight jersey & arm warmers both to & from work. In the morning I added windproof jacket & fleeced longs.

I've had limited space for extra kit, but my new seat back mounted bag's arrived today, so in conjunction with my rack bag I can take extra kit now. The rack bag does have fold down panniers, but I can't bring myself to use them.....messes up the aerodynamics.

2 degrees here so shorts and normal top plus usual yellow waterproof commute jacket so added buff and still with my thermal gloves anyway as post ticker issue meds mean feeling the old in my hands a bit more.
No buff on the way home and jacket unzipped as was warm.

I have a similar dilemma when using the road bike as the saddle bag is not too big, so the past couple of mornings I have had just grin and bear it, although not too cold to start with.

3 here this morning (same as most this week), just about got away with bibshorts, leg warmers, short sleaved jersey, long sleaved jersey, full finger gloves, and overshoes. Coming home tonight will probably be :- bibshorts, long jersey, & fingerless gloves, with the rest stuffed on the rack bag.

Woke up this morning with memories of yesterday's gloriously warm and sunny weather still in my head, and saw the sun up and shining merrily when I got up this morning. So left with shorts, short sleeves, and a grin on my face.

A mile from home turned onto the cycle path by the river, and noticed the hard frost on the grass. Grin turned to grimace as I tried to build up enough heat in my body to withstand the cold blast round my legs and arms.

At least I had my long-fingered gloves on!

Roughly 7 mile odd but it doesn't feel that hot here - bit of a breeze (tail yippeeee!). Def glad I remembered to pack a short sleeve jersey today though.
