As long as I breathe, I attack.
Simple enough , pulled my rib muscles at the weekend gardening and its painful to breath let alone move my arm.

If i go into work they will make me work because i turned up,and i have a manual job.Went in last night and it about killed me.

Off to the doctors at 5.15 but i will more than likely see the nurse, of course there's nothing wrong with that

remember you now get a fit to work note rather than a sick note. My understanding is that this details what work the doctor feels you're capable of doing.

Good luck and hope you recover soon.

Seen the doctors apparently i have sheared the bit that holds your ribs to the sternum, 7 day self self note + pain killers mean i cant drive or operate machinery .

cyberknight heal quick, what's a 7 day self self note? I've been among the walking wounded this week, tweaked my back the end of last week, been working through this week on strong painkillers and deep heat. Normally I would have just taken the week of but its only a month since they took me on and I didn't want to go on the sick so soon.

I went into work and reported it to them that i was in pain and they choose to ignore it and make me work, as a big company with its own doctor they imho should have sent me down but they do tend to get you back to work with max strength painkillers .

Linky here with a link to download the note.

  • You do not normally need a doctor's certificate for the first seven days of illness.
  • The Statutory Sick Pay Regulations state that employers are required to accept self-certification notes (filled in by you) for the first seven days of illness.
  • These are available from the Surgery and your employer may also hold some.

I had a tin-tack insert itself into my kneecap yesterday and it's amazing how sore my kneecap has been today...........Has affected me on the bike slightly...

Rib injuries are painful and can take a while to heal because you can't rest them properly without stopping breathing! It's important to take enough painkillers to allow you to breathe easily otherwise you are at risk of chest infections. Hope you soon feel better.
