Very sad news. A brilliant actor.

Downfall excellent film, he was mesmerising as Hitler.

He was a much more subtle actor than his outsize performance in Downfall would suggest. He was magical in Wings of Desire, and the last film I saw him in was Sally Potter's little gem, The Party.
